On Memorial Day weekend, many CrossFit affiliates around the world complete a workout in honor of the men and women who have sacrificed their lives. Our mission in putting ourselves through a grueling workout is to remember that our freedom is not free, to endure a challenging experience, and to show respect for the loved ones of those who carry on without their Mother, Father, brother, sister, friend.
This year, CrossFit 623 must move our Memorial Day “Murph” group workout to July 4th (Thanks COVID 19). We are currently still completing renovations at the new location. However, this has NOT stopped many of our members from tackling the workout this weekend. Today, this morning, many 623 athletes are doing pullups (100 reps), pushups (200), and squats (300) – they sandwich those movements with a 1 mile run, and some wear a weighted vest.
This is a workout we complete once a year. It’s part of our identity. It’s who we are.
and never forget WHY we do it.
To the athletes doing Murph today – keeping moving and stay strong.
